The majority of hot water systems in Brisbane are electric storage tanks which generally last
about 15 years before the tank splits and starts leaking water. Once the tank starts to leak it is not
repairable and needs to be replaced. At Strategic Plumbing we install any brand of hot water system
at reasonable prices. Our plumbers will have you up and running ASAP.

Quotes can vary greatly when you look at replacing your hot water system because of various
regulation changes over the years. Besides a new hot water system, its likely you may need extra
valves that were not installed previously. If these are not installed you will void the 7-12 year
warranty on your hot water system. Generally, we can re-use valves across most hot water system brands, however if the valves are older then 15 years old we recommend
replacing them to prevent future problems.

All hot water systems come with a Pressure Temperature Relief valve.

Additional, required valves include: A duo valve which is the on/off tap on cold water supply, a
pressure limiting valve to limit cold water supply pressure to 500 kpa.
A cold water expansion valve that will relieve pressure from the tank when it heats up.
A tempering valve to limit the hot water temperature to a maximum of 50°C
